L3 Training
JET offers Lithium Battery training classes that range from 30 minutes to three days and can either be provided in the workplace or online, and in a range of languages.
The Level 3 Advanced training course training focuses on providing skills necessary for being the facility site coordinator for lithium batteries. A Battery Safety Officer (BSO) must receive Level 3 Training. Persons in other roles such as battery engineers, tool designers and transportation managers may also benefit from the training or may be required to complete the curriculum. At the end of the training, participants receive a battery safety officer certification.
Topics provided during the training include Battery Classification and Hazards, Battery Handling Procedures, Battery Storage Requirements, Packing & Unpacking Procedures, Sea Container Preparation, Shipping Paperwork, Transportation Procedures and Emergency Procedures. Training modules can be customized to suit specific facility operations and policies.
The Level 3 course includes classroom sessions, field demonstrations walking participants through live demonstrations of different methods of packaging a variety of cells and batteries, and an emergency response scenario presentation. To receive certification, participants are required to pass an online test and conduct on-the-job training activities demonstrating practical skills such as conducting a battery storage unit audit and packaging various types of batteries.
