JET provides lithium battery training programs ranging from 30 minute awareness courses to three day technical courses, available onsite, online, and in multiple languages.
Level 1 Hazard Awareness Training
Awareness training focuses on safe handling, storage, packaging and management. Additional training is given on receiving, safe practices during tool installation, dismantling, and testing as well as emergency response and spill cleanup. This training is 1-2 hours and may be delivered by an instructor in a classroom setting or via a webinar.
Level 2 Technical and Packaging Training
Level 2 training focuses on safe handling, storage, packaging and management. Additional training is given on receiving, safe practices during tool installation, dismantling, and testing as well as emergency response and spill cleanup. This training is 8 hours over 1 day.
Level 3 Advanced Lithium Battery Training
The Level 3 Advanced Training course equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to serve as a Battery Safety Officer (BSO) or facility site coordinator for lithium batteries. Completion of this course is mandatory for BSOs and may also be required—or highly beneficial—for battery engineers, tool designers, transportation managers, and other professionals working with lithium batteries. Successful participants receive a Battery Safety Officer Certification.

Course Structure

Certification requires passing an online exam and completing designated workplace skill demonstrations.
